In Freeplane 'Tools' menu select 'Open user directory'ģ. ![]() This is my first groovy script so although it works it might need to be 'groovier'Ģ. The script operates from the Tools/Scripts menu and also works in a node script. I created a groovy script which seems to import opml ok. So I thought I'd just chime in about it one more time, because it remains an obstacle to me using this great program more extensively.Īnyway, if there's a away to accomplish this that I'm missing, pease feel free to educated. In short, being able to move things in and out of Freeplane in this format would be very helpful. Then, of course we've got Omni-Outliner on the mac, Notecase Pro on Mac, Windows, and LInux, and I'm sure there are others. In addition to Workflowy, the following web services also use this format: Moo.do, Ginko.app, and Dynalist. When I posted about this on the old forum, I noted that OPML was a very ubiquitous format for outline programs. In any case, an OPML import would be preferable, because then perhaps the notes field from Workflows could be imported into the notes field in Freeplane nodes. When I paste that into Freeplane, it actually does a good job of building the node structure, but it's creating some weird formating, where the text in the core of all the level 1 nodes have a pink background. Workflowy also can export what it calls "formated text," which I'm pretty sure is RTF. It can import and export OPML, so I tried to take a Workflowy outline out and bring it into Freeplane. That said, in the interim, I've spent a lot of time working in Workflowy. And perhaps in the interim, I've absorbed some more about how Freeplane works, because some stuff is making more sense to me now. I downloaded the new 1.5 alpha, watched Jonas's videos, and I've been playing around with it. I hadn't really used Freeplane in a year or so, but I decided to come this forum a couple of weeks ago, just to see what was going on. So I guess I'm back to banging this drum again. Has there been any progress on importing OMPL files into a mindmap? I tried doing it using the import command and got a parsing error. I brought OPML imports up a few years ago on the old forum.
